A preliminary court date has been set for two men accused of being in a car that fired shots at police officers in Winton Place on Thursday night. The incident occurred while police were conducting an investigation in the area, leading to a high-speed chase and a confrontation that resulted in gunfire directed at the officers' vehicles.

Alleged Shootout with Police Leads to Arrests in Colerain Township

Suspects Identified as Tyreese and Tyrell Vaughn

Police have identified the two suspects as Tyreese and Tyrell Vaughn, both 18 years old. The Vaughn brothers were allegedly inside a car with three other individuals when they fled at the sight of a police vehicle. As officers attempted to follow the vehicle, it increased its speed, leading to gunshots being fired from the car towards the officers' vehicles.

High-Speed Chase Ends in Colerain Township

The five individuals were pursued by police throughout parts of the West Side, eventually leading to a dead-end street in Colerain Township, where they were apprehended. In addition to the Vaughn brothers, the three other people in the car were also taken into custody. Officials have not yet identified the other three individuals or announced if they will face charges.

Charges and Court Appearance for the Vaughn Brothers

Both Tyreese and Tyrell Vaughn are set to appear in court for their first hearing on September 23rd. They are being charged with felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and are being held on $50,000 bonds. It is currently unknown who was driving the car or how many of the five people inside the vehicle fired shots at the police.

Potential Relationship Between the Suspects

According to booking data, the two Vaughn brothers share a birth date, indicating that they may likely be twins. Both had just turned 18 years old on July 11th.
