Speeding Vehicle Loses Control, Crashes into Home

According to the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday when a vehicle traveling eastbound on N. County Road 33 at a high rate of speed failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle then left the roadway and collided directly with a nearby home, resulting in a devastating impact.The force of the collision caused the vehicle and the home to become engulfed in flames, prompting a swift response from multiple fire and emergency medical services (EMS) crews. When the first responders arrived at the scene, they were faced with a chaotic and dangerous situation.

Resident Unharmed, Occupants of Vehicle Hospitalized

Fortunately, the resident of the home was inside at the time of the crash but managed to escape unharmed. However, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Anterius Thomas, was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI), failure to control, and driving under suspension. Thomas was transported to Tiffin Mercy Hospital for treatment.The passenger of the vehicle was more severely injured and had to be airlifted to Toledo ProMedica Hospital for further medical attention.
