Tulsa's Permanent Ink: Tattoos Raising Funds for the Homeless

In a unique and heartwarming initiative, two local Tulsa businesses have joined forces to support the city's homeless population. Unidos Pharmacy and Anchor & Rose Tattoo Co. have teamed up to offer a special Tulsa flag tattoo, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Be Heard Movement, a non-profit organization providing essential resources to those in need.

Inking Tulsa Pride for a Worthy Cause

Turning a Joke into a Meaningful Endeavor

Jason Hart, the owner of Unidos Pharmacy, was inspired to take action after hearing about the "Tulsa Tattoo" joke on a local podcast. Recognizing the potential to turn this lighthearted concept into a meaningful initiative, Hart reached out to Anchor & Rose Tattoo Co. to collaborate on a project that would not only showcase Tulsa pride but also make a tangible difference in the lives of the city's homeless population. The tattoo shop was eager to get involved, and together, they designed a unique Tulsa flag tattoo that customers can now get for a $100 fee. The catch? Half of the proceeds from each tattoo will be donated directly to the Be Heard Movement, a non-profit organization that provides free resources such as showers, haircuts, and clean laundry to those in need.

Harnessing the Power of Community

Marceau Hicks, a tattoo artist at Anchor & Rose, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "Tulsa people love Tulsa." This sentiment is echoed by the growing number of individuals who have already gotten their Tulsa flag tattoos, demonstrating the city's strong sense of community and pride.Abryeon Cole, the outreach manager for the Be Heard Movement, is deeply grateful for the support. "It goes a long way," he said. "These people are human as well. If everyone goes by just not seeing them, then it will never change. The problem will just continue to get worse."

A Permanent Reminder of Tulsa's Compassion

The Tulsa flag tattoo fundraiser has no set end date, allowing more and more people to participate and contribute to the cause. For anyone 18 years or older, the opportunity to get a unique Tulsa-themed tattoo while supporting the city's homeless population is a chance to make a lasting impact. As the initiative continues to gain momentum, the Tulsa flag tattoos will serve as a permanent reminder of the city's compassion and the power of local businesses coming together to make a difference. Through this innovative partnership, Unidos Pharmacy and Anchor & Rose Tattoo Co. are not only celebrating Tulsa's spirit but also paving the way for a more inclusive and supportive community.
