Powering Through Challenges, Starks Secures Solid Result in Texas

Overcoming First-Night Hurdles

Starks' weekend in Texas began with a few challenges, as he adapted to a new team and a new car. On Friday, he timed in eighth quickest in his group and placed fifth in a heat race, locking into the main event. "It was the classic first night with a new team," Starks acknowledged. "We had a lot of things to shake out." Despite encountering engine issues during hot laps, Starks managed to put together a respectable qualifying effort and heat race performance, setting the stage for a stronger showing on Saturday.

Bouncing Back with a Vengeance

Saturday proved to be a much better outing for Starks, as he continued to make progress throughout the day. He timed in 10th quickest in his group and finished sixth in a heat race, before advancing a pair of positions to end third in the B Main, transferring into the back of the main event. In the A Main, Starks showcased his determination, hustling from 23rd to 15th – the third-most positions gained. "We were able to work our way to 15th in the feature," Starks said. "We gained a couple of spots with crashes, but we passed several cars as well. I felt a lot more comfortable than I did on Friday."

Eyeing the Prestigious Trophy Cup

With the Texas weekend behind him, Starks now sets his sights on the famed Trophy Cup, a marquee event taking place at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California, from Thursday through Saturday. Starks hasn't competed at the event since 2017, but he's eager to make his return, driving for the renowned Rudeen Racing team. "This is a one-off event and it's hard to turn down an opportunity to drive for Kevin Rudeen and his team," Starks said. "It's been a while since I've been to Trophy Cup. We've had some good runs there and some not so good runs. It's a tough race where you have to be fast, have some luck and stay out of trouble the whole weekend. I feel confident going in because the last time I was at Thunderbowl Raceway, I ran well, so I'm pretty excited for it."As Starks prepares to tackle the prestigious Trophy Cup, his recent performance in Texas serves as a testament to his adaptability, determination, and unwavering commitment to his craft. With a proven track record and a hunger for success, Starks is poised to make his mark on the prestigious event and continue his ascent in the world of dirt track racing.
