The impact of the collision resulted in multiple casualties, with most of the deceased being bus passengers.According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the crash was "avoidable and preventable," citing poor vehicle maintenance and driver negligence as the primary factors. The FRSC spokesperson, Olusegun Ogungbemide, stated that the bus was carrying 23 male adults, 1 female adult, 1 male child, and 3 female children, totaling 28 people. Of this number, 13 victims were rescued with varying injuries, while 15 victims, comprising 11 male adults, 1 female adult, and 3 female children, were killed.
