According to the police reports, the father had put his two children in the car around 6 a.m. on August 13th. While his older daughter managed to get herself out and go into daycare alone, the father continued on to work in Brady Township without dropping off his young son. The father claimed that the children usually fell asleep during the ride to daycare, and there was nothing unusual about that morning.

The Devastating Discovery

It wasn't until the father went to the grocery store after work, around 3:15 p.m., that he finally checked the backseat and made the horrific discovery. Security footage from the father's workplace later revealed that the car's tinted windows had obscured the view of the child in the backseat. Witnesses at the grocery store corroborated the father's account, stating that he became visibly distraught upon finding his son in the vehicle.

Authorities Respond, but It's Too Late

Despite the efforts of a nearby woman who checked on the child and had an employee call 911, the boy was beyond help.
