A devastating traffic accident occurred on a two-way road near Wenatchee, resulting in the loss of four lives and injuries to seven others. The incident unfolded early Sunday afternoon when a vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a charter bus carrying 27 passengers and its driver. This tragic event highlights the importance of safe driving practices and vigilance on the roads.

The collision involved a 2007 Toyota Camry that attempted to overtake another car but tragically struck the bus traveling in the opposite direction. Following the impact, the bus veered off the road and ended up in a ditch. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. Authorities confirmed that the Camry's occupants, a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, the 66-year-old bus driver did not survive the crash. One more passenger later succumbed to their injuries at a nearby hospital. None of the bus passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision, which may have contributed to the severity of the injuries sustained.

Seven other passengers from the bus were injured, ranging in age from 24 to 71. Most of these individuals are residents of Spokane, Washington. Thankfully, no one was harmed in a third vehicle that was also struck by the Camry during the overtaking maneuver. This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the critical need for road safety and responsible driving. It underscores the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
