At the time, the cyclist was attempting to cross from Baymeadows Road onto Hampton Landing Drive using a crosswalk. Witnesses reported that the vehicle had a green light, whereas the cyclist was crossing against a red signal. Following the impact, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
