It was with a heavy heart that the 18-year-old Avedisian posted on X on Tuesday evening. She explained that she has been dealing with this injury since BC39 and, despite the efforts of amazing doctors, she needs time to heal properly. Making this decision was extremely difficult as she has a deep love and passion for dirt racing. But she understands the importance of getting her body back to 100 percent.She couldn't help but express how much fun she has had in the last few years and how proud she is of what they have accomplished. She knows there are many years ahead of her and this is the right decision for her.
Avedisian's racing journey this year has been quite remarkable. Just last year, she signed a multiyear deal with Toyota Racing Development after becoming the first woman to win a national Midget title on the Xtreme Outlaw tour. This year, she expanded her portfolio by entering the pavement world with Wilson Motorsports' Late Model team and Nitro Motorsports' sports car on the Toyota GR Cup. She also continued to race midgets nationally with Keith Kunz Motorsports' renowned program on the USAC, Xtreme Outlaw, and POWRi Midget scenes.In 37 national Midget starts this year, Avedesian collected eight top-five finishes and 17 top-10 finishes. Her 2024 highlights include a flag-to-flag win in just her second pavement Late Model start on November 9th at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway's 100-lap Fall Brawl. She also achieved a runner-up position at the BC39, a runner-up in her first-ever pavement Late Model start at North Carolina's Orange County Speedway, and a runner-up to Justin Grant in the Australian Speedcar Championship at Australia's Perth Motorplex in March.
