The Toyota Gazoo Racing team, reigning World Champions in the manufacturers' category, commenced their season with a commendable performance in the challenging Qatar event. Despite the hurdles, they secured third place overall. In this race, Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries achieved sixth position in their #7 GR010 HYBRID, while Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa managed fifth place in the #8 car. With these results, the team now looks forward to round two of the eight-race season in Italy, where they hope to build on past successes.

Round two takes place at Imola, a track with special significance for Toyota Gazoo Racing. Last year, amidst unpredictable weather conditions, the #7 GR010 HYBRID triumphed here, marking the beginning of their championship-winning journey. This victory not only boosted their morale but also set the tone for their pursuit of both world titles. As part of three crucial European races leading up to the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours in June, Imola is an essential milestone in their quest for a sixth victory at La Sarthe.

The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, known for its rich history since its establishment in 1953, has become a landmark in motorsport. Having hosted World Championship endurance races six times, including rejoining the WEC calendar last year after four decades away, it replaces Monza as a key venue. The circuit promises excitement with a diverse lineup featuring Hypercars from eight manufacturers—Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Toyota Gazoo Racing, Peugeot, and Porsche—alongside LMGT3 cars racing over the Easter weekend.

A passionate audience is anticipated to witness the action-packed competition among 18 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3 vehicles. Track preparations commence on Friday, April 18th, with two 90-minute practice sessions. Qualifying and Hyperpole will determine the starting grid on Saturday at 3:10 pm CEST. The Six Hours of Imola race begins Sunday, April 20th, at 1 pm.

As the second race unfolds, Toyota Gazoo Racing hopes to leverage their past achievements at Imola to secure a strong position. The team aims to replicate last year's success by overcoming any challenges posed by the varied weather conditions and fierce competition. With the Le Mans 24 Hours just around the corner, every race counts towards their ultimate goal of another world title.
