Judy quickly contacted the seller in Milwaukie, Oregon, sensing this could be the one. Within hours, Stan was on his way to Portland, where he inspected and purchased the truck for $28,000. Despite some imperfections, including a damaged grille, the Halls saw potential in this classic vehicle.

Over the next year and a half, Stan meticulously restored the truck, replacing the grille and adding new wheels, white-wall tires, and hubcaps to enhance its traditional look. He also sourced 1940 license plates with "PC" imprinted, signifying pneumatic tires, and crafted a matching trunk for the bed. These efforts transformed the truck into a showpiece named "Rosebud." The truck, originally restored by Bob Schaber in 2003, has had only four owners since then and boasts a mere 4,700 miles on the odometer.
