In Torrington, a tragic incident unfolded when a three-car collision occurred, resulting in one vehicle rolling over and trapping the driver inside. This incident sent multiple people to the hospital, causing significant concern and disruption. The crash was reported just after 4:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Highland Avenue, as stated by Sgt. Kyle Johnson of the Torrington Police Department.

It was discovered that a 61-year-old woman was driving a Subaru west on Highland Avenue. Suddenly, the rear of her vehicle was struck by a Saab being driven by 39-year-old Joseph Ledda. This impact caused the Saab to cross into the opposite lane, where it struck a Buick Encore that was headed east. The force of the collision was so great that it caused the Buick to roll over.The driver of the Buick, a 43-year-old man, was trapped inside and required the assistance of the Torrington Fire Department's crews to be extricated. He was then taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Two other occupants of the Buick, a 27-year-old woman and a 60-year-old woman, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the hospital.The driver of the Subaru did not report any injuries. According to Johnson, Ledda was charged with reckless driving and following too closely, highlighting the severity of the incident.This three-car collision serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the potential consequences of reckless driving.
