Coordinated Police Operation Leads to Arrests

On November 13th, Second District and Third District police officers conducted a targeted operation as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of vehicle break-ins in the Ohio City, Battery Park, and West 25th Street/Shoreway areas. Around 11:30 PM, officers were alerted to vehicles being broken into in the 1900 block of West 25th Street.Responding quickly, the police spotted a stolen orange Kia in the area, which had been reported stolen just days earlier on November 8th. When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle sped off, leading to a chase that ended at a gas station on East 105th Street and St. Clair Avenue.

Suspects Apprehended After Chaotic Confrontation

At the gas station, police arrested a 14-year-old male suspect who had entered the station. During the arrest, a firearm was also seized. Meanwhile, one of the two remaining suspects in the Kia moved into the driver's seat and reversed the car, striking a detective's vehicle. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.The two other suspects, a second 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended shortly after. A search of the Kia revealed several stolen credit cards, other stolen items, three window punches, two loaded magazines, a holster, and a second firearm.
