Officers were promptly called to Frankford Avenue and Pratt Street after 3 p.m. due to a shooting. This location is in close proximity to SEPTA’s Frankford Transit Center Station. A middle-aged man identified as John Doe was the victim, having been shot in the head. It was reported that while using the ATM, the car owner left his vehicle running, and another man took the opportunity to try and steal it. The car owner, a licensed gun owner, fired one shot into the car, hitting John Doe.John Doe was immediately taken to Temple University Hospital. Unfortunately, he later died on Friday evening at 6:17 p.m. SEPTA Police took the shooter into custody, and there was no impact on SEPTA service.Investigation and Call for Information
