Our journalism thrives due to the generous donations from readers like you. It remains free for all. T.C. Howe Middle School students are actively involved in a holiday food drive. Their student council is collecting non-perishable and canned food donations until December 18. These donations will be carefully packed and distributed to those in need. The school is collaborating with its Family and Community Engagement liaison and social worker to identify the families in need. Community members can easily contribute by dropping off items at the school's main office located at 4900 Julian Ave. It is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, except during school breaks. Mirror Indy reporter Carley Lanich focuses on early childhood and K-12 education. You can reach her at carley.lanich@mirrorindy.org or follow her on X @carleylanich.
