The Sultan of Brunei is renowned for possessing the world's largest private car collection. For decades, the identities of all the cars within it remained a closely guarded secret. However, that mystery seems to be unraveling, at least partially. Since yesterday, Instagram has been a source of leaked images of this luxurious car collection, and the flow of pictures shows no sign of stopping.

Discovering the Stored Treasures

It would take an extraordinary amount of time to upload all 7,000 cars onto the platform. This collection encompasses an astonishing variety, including hundreds of Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, Ferraris, and almost every luxury brand one can think of. It truly is a testament to the Sultan's passion for automobiles.

Early Glimpses and Rumors

Earlier this year, we were granted a rare glimpse of this car collection through never-before-seen photos. These images, too, were from a time long past and only surfaced recently. We already knew that the Sultan of Brunei owned hundreds, if not thousands, of Rolls-Royce and Bentley models. In fact, between the early and mid-1990s, half of all cars produced by these two brands were delivered to him. This gives an indication of the sheer scale of his collection.

Inside the Massive Collection

The most recent leaked photos provide a fascinating look at how the cars are parked. In a color-coded manner, dozens of cars are neatly arranged. While most collectors sort their cars by brand or make, when you have thousands of vehicles, sorting by color seems like a practical approach. Prince Jefri Bolkiah, along with his son, built this collection. However, due to legal troubles faced by Prince Jefri, some cars had to be given away. The leaked Instagram photos are divided into two accounts: brunei_cars_2001 and taffy_c_s_145. Both accounts showcase a significant number of Ferraris, including bespoke examples like the Ferrari 456GT Estate and various colors of the Ferrari F90. There are also exclusive Bentleys and rare gems like the McLaren F1 LM.Among these photos, one notable absence is the world's most expensive royal car, the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II. Although we can't list every car that was leaked, one Instagram account owner was kind enough to upload all the photos to a Google Drive folder, sorted by brands. It's a helpful organization that allows us to get a better understanding of the collection. All in all, it's a bittersweet sight. Most of these cars have spent their lives sitting in a garage, waiting to be appreciated. The Sultan of Brunei's car collection is a remarkable testament to his love for automobiles and his ability to amass such an extraordinary collection.
