Stowa Unveils New Chrono WRC Stage 1 Automatic Chronograph

Stowa, recognized as the official timekeeper and watch partner for the World Rally Championship, has expanded its collection with the introduction of the Chrono WRC Stage 1 automatic chronograph. This new model departs from the more compact pilot's watch style of its predecessor, the Flieger Verus Black Forest WRC, offering a significantly larger and purpose-built design. It is available in two distinct finishes: a classic stainless steel version and a contemporary black-coated variant, catering to diverse preferences while maintaining a strong connection to the high-octane world of rally racing.

The Chrono WRC Stage 1 boasts impressive specifications tailored for performance and durability. Its substantial 44mm diameter case, measuring 16mm in thickness and 49mm from lug to lug, is crafted from three-piece brushed stainless steel, featuring distinctive recessed flanks and hollow lugs. Both the natural steel and black-coated editions include a graduated bezel, a sapphire crystal for superior scratch resistance, and a solid 100-meter water resistance, ensuring reliability in various conditions. The black-coated version extends its dark aesthetic to the piston-style chronograph pushers and crown, enhancing its cohesive design. The dial, presented in sophisticated matte grey and anthracite tones, features a highly functional two-tone layout complemented by a finely textured minutes track. Vibrant WRC orange accents on the central chronograph seconds hand and the 30-minute counter, along with the WRC logo positioned above the date window at 6 o’clock, infuse the watch with the spirit of rally. For optimal visibility in low-light conditions, the hands and applied hour markers are treated with Super-LumiNova BGW9, emitting a clear blue luminescence.

Driving this robust timepiece is the Sellita SW510 movement, a self-winding, cam-actuated chronograph calibre renowned for its dependability and Valjoux-based architecture. This movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides an approximate 50-hour power reserve, complete with a rapid-set date function. The Chrono WRC Stage 1 Steel offers versatility in wear, with options for either a seamlessly integrated stainless steel bracelet or a sleek black silicone strap. The Chrono WRC Stage 1 Black, however, is exclusively paired with the black silicone strap, further emphasizing its sporty and aggressive character. With a starting price of EUR 2,990, including VAT, this dynamic chronograph is now available, inviting enthusiasts to experience its blend of precision engineering and racing-inspired design.

The Stowa Chrono WRC Stage 1 stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of precision craftsmanship and the thrill of motorsport. It represents more than just a time-telling device; it embodies a commitment to excellence, functionality, and a lifestyle that celebrates dynamism and adventure. This timepiece serves as a reminder that with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for innovation, one can always strive for higher standards and embrace challenges with confidence and style.
