Stellantis Charges Ahead with Electric Ram Pickup and Jeep Wagoneer in Michigan

Stellantis, the global automotive giant, has announced a significant investment in its Michigan manufacturing facilities to support its multienergy strategy. The company will build its first-ever electric Ram 1500 REV pickup and the range-extended Ram 1500 Ramcharger at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, while also investing in the Warren Truck Assembly and Dundee Engine Plant to produce electrified Jeep Wagoneer models and battery components.

Powering the Future of Pickup Trucks and SUVs

Electrifying the Ram 1500 Lineup

Stellantis is making a bold move into the electric pickup truck market with the introduction of the Ram 1500 REV. This all-new electric model will be built alongside the company's internal combustion engine-powered Ram 1500 trucks at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. The REV will be built on Stellantis' STLA Frame architecture, designed specifically for full-size electric vehicles, featuring a lightweight yet durable body-on-frame design.The Ram 1500 REV is expected to offer impressive range, with an optional 229 kilowatt-hour battery pack providing up to 500 miles of driving on a single charge. Customers who may not be ready to fully embrace an all-electric pickup will have the option of the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, which combines a 92 kilowatt-hour battery pack with a 130-kilowatt generator powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, delivering a targeted range of 690 miles.

Electrifying the Jeep Wagoneer Lineup

Stellantis is also investing in its Warren Truck Assembly Plant to build an electrified version of the Jeep Wagoneer. This move is part of the company's plan to launch four Jeep EVs globally by the end of 2025. The electrified Wagoneer will be built on the same production line as the gas-powered Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models, showcasing Stellantis' commitment to a multienergy approach.The investment in the Dundee Engine Plant will further support Stellantis' electrification efforts. The plant will produce battery trays and other components related to the company's hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, including the new 1.6-liter, I-4 turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection and flexibility for hybrid-electric vehicle applications.
