This new show centers on young recruits navigating their training as Starfleet officers in futuristic San Francisco and aboard the mobile classroom U.S.S. Athena. Following a century-long hiatus due to a catastrophic event known as the Burn, the Starfleet Academy has been reactivated. It now enlists both time-travelers and exceptionally long-lived instructors, tasked with imparting the foundational principles of the organization to a new cohort of cadets.
