Sarah's dedication to this cause is deeply personal. "When I was a child, I was also hospitalized for a health issue, and I remember how lonely and dull it can be to be isolated in a hospital room," she shared. "I wanted to do something to bring a little bit of joy and comfort to these kids who are going through such difficult experiences."
Over the past 8 years, Sarah has continued her selfless efforts, tirelessly collecting donations from individuals and organizations. Her mother, Cheryl, has been a constant source of support, proudly nominating her daughter for a "Be Remarkable" award to recognize her remarkable contributions.
Kristen Christian, the Director of Emergency Services at St. Joseph, has witnessed firsthand the impact of Sarah's donations. "You know, the ER is crazy and chaotic, and the toys for the kids are just one small, little piece of comfort we can give them, and we can't do that without Sarah's help," she said.
Sarah's selfless acts have not gone unnoticed. Her mother, Cheryl, expressed her immense pride in her daughter's humble and unwavering dedication to this cause. "I'm very proud of her, and she never, ever seeks recognition. She never talks about it. I do, but she does not, and she's so humble about it," Cheryl shared.
The "Be Remarkable" award presented to Sarah by KBTX and Daniel Stark Injury Lawyers is a well-deserved recognition of her extraordinary efforts. It serves as a shining example of how one person's compassion and dedication can make a lasting difference in the lives of those in need.
As Sarah continues her mission, her story inspires others to follow in her footsteps and find ways to make a positive impact on their communities. Her selfless acts remind us that even the smallest gestures can have a profound and lasting effect on those who are facing the most challenging circumstances.
