Supporting Those in Need

At the heart of this car show lies a noble cause—the Cape Coral Caring Center. Since its inception, the event has raised an astounding $385,000, with last year alone contributing $70,000 to the local food pantry. This year, the fundraising goal is ambitiously set at $100,000, reflecting the growing needs of the community. Many families are still recovering from recent storms and economic challenges, making the support from this event more crucial than ever.Phil Deems, the dedicated organizer, emphasizes the importance of community solidarity. “Our community backs one another, especially those who have lost everything due to flooding, hurricanes, or job loss,” he said. The Cape Coral Caring Center serves over 12,000 individuals annually, providing essential services such as food assistance. Every dollar donated has a significant impact, as the center can convert a single dollar into eight dollars' worth of food. This efficiency underscores the value of every contribution.

An Event That Grows with Purpose

What started as a modest gathering of 80 to 90 cars at Jaycee Park has evolved into a major attraction, drawing thousands of attendees each year. Last year’s event showcased over 400 vehicles, transforming Mariner High School’s campus into a bustling hub of automotive enthusiasts. To accommodate the influx of visitors, organizers have arranged for a trolley service, ensuring easy access for all attendees. The success of the car show is a testament to the generosity of local businesses and individuals. Starbucks, Publix, and Domino’s have generously donated coffee, donuts, and pizza, enhancing the overall experience for participants. As the event continues to grow, it remains committed to its founding mission—supporting those in need while celebrating the joy of cars.

A Day Filled with Tribute and Celebration

The car show will culminate in a poignant tribute to the military and first responders. At noon, a color guard ceremony will take place, accompanied by the pledge and live music. This segment honors the sacrifices made by these heroes and highlights the values of patriotism and service. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a variety of entertainment options, including a deejay playing nostalgic tunes from the ’50s and ’60s.In addition to the cars, a new feature this year will be a display of large model airplanes, adding another layer of excitement for aviation enthusiasts.
