A recent development in a Nashville shooting case has led to the arrest of a second teenager. This incident occurred when a man, reportedly confronting individuals suspected of car burglary, was injured by gunfire. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has taken action against two suspects involved in this event. William Hope, aged 19, is now under arrest and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder. This follows the earlier apprehension of Jordan Worthington, also 19, who was charged with similar offenses. The victim, a 35-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to his hip while addressing suspicious activity near his vehicle.
The latest arrest involves William Hope, who was detained without any resistance at a fast-food restaurant in Lebanon. Law enforcement tracked Hope from Nashville based on information linking him to a vehicle involved in the incident. He joins Jordan Worthington, who was arrested on February 14 during a coordinated traffic stop in Hermitage. Both suspects are facing serious charges for their alleged involvement in the shooting.
Hope’s arrest came after detectives from the Specialized Investigation Division TITANS identified and followed a car believed to be carrying him. The vehicle was traced to a fast-food restaurant where Hope was apprehended without incident. The charges against Hope include attempted criminal homicide, attempted vehicle burglary, felony reckless endangerment, and two counts of aggravated assault. These additional charges stem from the presence of the victim's wife and young child in the bedroom at the time of the shooting, which significantly escalated the severity of the incident.
The shooting took place on February 12 on Del Sol Drive, where a 35-year-old man was wounded while confronting individuals near his truck. The victim had been shouting warnings through his bedroom window when he was struck by gunfire. This confrontation resulted in a hip injury that required immediate medical attention. The incident highlights the dangers faced by residents attempting to protect their property from potential burglaries.
Upon receiving reports of the shooting, MNPD officers swiftly initiated an investigation. The victim’s actions in confronting the suspects drew significant attention from law enforcement, leading to the swift arrests of both Hope and Worthington. During Worthington’s arrest, officers recovered a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol from his vehicle, providing further evidence connecting him to the crime. The presence of firearms and the involvement of minors underscore the seriousness of the situation and the need for heightened community vigilance.
