The energy and excitement in the air are palpable as the team gears up to showcase their skills. This is a moment of pride for both the dancers and the local community.
Gretchen Akers, the Studio Director of the San Clemente Dance & Performing Arts Center, shares her enthusiasm, saying, "This is always an exciting time for the team. It's the first time they will be showing their routine for the season to the families in the local community. It's truly exciting."
Akers emphasizes the diversity of the event, stating, "It's going to be so much fun, with something for everyone to enjoy. There's a wide range of styles and performances that will leave the audience in awe."
The combination of these different dance groups creates a dynamic and immersive experience that is not to be missed.
Akers praises the team's resilience, saying, "Our team has shown incredible growth this year, especially with the transition to a new coach. The captains have been instrumental in maintaining the team's high standards."
Their leadership and hard work have set the stage for a successful season ahead.
Akers is excited about the new routines, stating, "This year, we are excited to showcase the new routines that have been choreographed. These routines will be competing in the spring, and our first competition is in January. It's an exciting time for the team."
The team's dedication to perfecting these routines is evident in their polished performances.
Akers explains the importance of fundraisers, saying, "We do a lot of fundraisers. Agape is just one of our sponsors, and they're sponsoring this event. For every event, we have a sponsor, and for the concert, we'll have another sponsor. We also have give-back nights at restaurants and a poinsettia drive for winter. These fundraisers help us continue to pursue our passion for dance."
The team's hard work and determination are evident in their efforts to secure the necessary funds.
Akers highlights the team's work ethic, saying, "San Clemente is known for their novelty pieces, so we are excited to see what they have come up with this year. It's always a surprise, and it's a piece that includes everybody on the team. Their daily practice shows their dedication to excellence."
The team's young roster, with only three seniors, sets the stage for a bright future. Gretchen Akers praises the leadership of captains Kirra Akers and Veale, who have maintained the team's high standards during a season of change.
"They have done an amazing job with the transition of the coach. They continued with the conditioning until we got a coach," Akers says. Their leadership has been crucial in keeping the team on track.
The event not only celebrates their hard work but also serves as a steppingstone toward the competitive season. For many of the dancers, it's a chance to showcase their dedication and connect with the community that supports them.
Akers urges the community to come and support the dance team, saying, "Please come and support the dance team by coming to see our show. Your support means everything to us."
