Samsung Unveils Groundbreaking 115-inch Micro RGB TV

Samsung has officially launched its first television featuring Micro RGB backlight technology, a significant advancement in display innovation. This initial offering, a massive 115-inch model, is making its debut in the South Korean market with a price tag exceeding $32,000. The company has confirmed plans to introduce this cutting-edge display to the United States next, followed by a broader global release that will include a variety of size options. This development marks a new era in television picture quality, promising an unparalleled viewing experience for consumers.

The newly unveiled Micro RGB technology represents a substantial upgrade from the existing Mini LED backlighting systems. Unlike Mini LED, which typically employs arrays of tiny white or blue LEDs behind an LCD panel, Micro RGB utilizes an intricate arrangement of individually controllable red, green, and blue LEDs. Each of these miniature LEDs measures less than 100 micrometers, allowing for exceptionally precise illumination.

At the heart of this advanced display is Samsung’s proprietary Micro RGB AI engine. This intelligent system meticulously analyzes each frame in real-time, dynamically optimizing color output to deliver a picture that is more lifelike and visually engaging. While Hisense claims its TV can achieve 97 percent of the BT.2020 color space, Samsung asserts that its Micro RGB technology surpasses this, reproducing an impressive 100 percent of the BT.2020 color gamut. This potentially positions Samsung's new offering as one of the most color-accurate televisions currently available to consumers, solidifying its commitment to pioneering display innovations.
