The Monegasque waters surrounding the Yacht Club de Monaco are renowned for their demanding technical conditions, providing a true test of the competitors' seamanship and strategic prowess. The 2024 Optimist European Team Racing Championship has attracted 120 young sailors, divided into 16 teams, each vying for the coveted title. As the round-robin stage concluded, the Turkish team emerged in first place, followed by the Italians in second and the Spanish in third. However, the competition remains fierce, with the Poles and Greeks continuing to fight for a spot on the podium.

Teamwork and Tactics Prove Crucial

The Italian team, comprising Bianca, Anna, Christian, and Jesper, expressed their confidence in their abilities, stating, "We feel good, the team is very good, the conditions outside are pretty difficult. We hope to win the competition, but it's gonna be hard." Meanwhile, the Monaco team, formed by Ludovica, Facundo, Pietro, and Océane, emphasized the importance of teamwork and adaptability, saying, "We're very confident about the race, and it's very important to work as a team, to speak, to look at the conditions. Sometimes it's difficult to take the start without being blocked, but we are doing our best."
