Exploring Cost-Saving Measures for the New Library Building
The Capital Improvements Plan subcommittee of the Bee Cave City Council has been tasked with finding ways to lower the cost of constructing a new library building. The size and location of the proposed library are major cost drivers, so the subcommittee is examining alternative sites that could potentially reduce the overall expenses. Once the subcommittee has a recommendation for the next steps, they will present it to the City Council for a public hearing and an official vote.In the meantime, the Bee Cave Library continues to provide award-winning programming, friendly customer service, and a welcoming space for the community to connect over their shared love of reading. The Rolling Sculpture Car Show: A Beloved Community Event
The Rolling Sculpture Car Show is just around the corner, set to take place on Sunday, October 27th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hill Country Galleria. This annual, family-friendly event is a celebration of automotive art, showcasing a diverse array of collector cars, including sports and exotic vehicles, modern classics, hot rods, and art cars. The event is free for spectators and raises funds for the Bee Cave Public Library through sponsorships, registration fees for the car owners, and the sale of t-shirts and raffle tickets. This year's raffle item is a kid-size Lamborghini with a remote-control override for parents to operate, adding an extra layer of excitement for the young attendees.Since its inception in 2008, the Rolling Sculpture Car Show has raised an impressive $114,000, with the proceeds supporting the library's annual Summer Reading Program, the Books and Bees Festival, and scholarships for teen volunteers who have donated their time and talents to the library.Sponsors and Attractions at the Rolling Sculpture Car Show
