The McConnellsburg Alumni & Friends Association's 14th annual car show, yard sale, and bazaar was a resounding success, drawing in a record number of vehicles and enthusiastic attendees. The event, held on June 29th, showcased the community's passion for classic cars, camaraderie, and supporting local initiatives.

A Showcase of Automotive Gems

The car show was a true testament to the community's love for classic vehicles, with a total of 117 cars lining the Alumni Community Building grounds. The competition was fierce, with several standout entries vying for the top honors. Ken Edleblute of Mercersburg, with his stunning 1968 Chevelle SS, took home the coveted Top Show Car award. Roger Miller's 1966 Ford F-150 earned the Top of the Show Truck trophy, while Cathy Shannon's 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 was awarded the President's Choice Award.

Honoring Automotive Artistry

The Judges' Choice Awards recognized the exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail of several vehicles. John Hamsher's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, Rick Everetts' 1957 Ford Thunderbird, Mike Myers' 1959 Chevy Impala, David and Nancy Bivens' 1931 Ford A Sedan, Himmel Keith's 1946 Ford Special Delany, Darren Mellott's 1950 Ford Model A, Dawn Leab's 1978 Chevrolet Corvette, and Callie Mellott's 1930 Ford Model A CP all received well-deserved recognition.

A Vibrant Marketplace and Community Collaboration

The event was further enhanced by the presence of numerous vendors, including Anita's Country Scents, Granny's Attic, and Julie Henk's Scentsy. These local businesses added to the festive atmosphere and provided attendees with a diverse array of goods and services. The success of the car show was also made possible by the generous support of sponsors, including G & P Distributors, Tri-State ATV, American Legion Post 561, Buchanan Auto Parts, and many others.
