In the ever-evolving world of electric vehicles, Renault continues to impress with its retro-inspired models and brands such as Alpine and Dacia. However, beneath the allure of these innovative designs lies the necessity for more practical yet somewhat mundane vehicles. The Scenic, an electric crossover, and the Megane, an electric hatchback styled like a crossover, represent this category. Despite their utility, Renault has introduced a fresh touch to these models through the new Esprit Alpine trim, enhancing their visual appeal without altering their performance capabilities.

This latest edition brings a stylish update to both the Scenic and Megane. Featuring eye-catching 20-inch wheels, glossy black window trims, and distinctive black logos, the aesthetic changes are notable. Additionally, elements such as the 'F1 Blade' on the Megane's front bumper and the rear diffuser now boast a matte grey finish. Inside, passengers will find six-way adjustable massaging sports seats crafted from recycled materials and adorned with Alpine Blue stitching, creating a cohesive theme throughout the interior. These enhancements aim to elevate the driving experience while maintaining the original powertrain and chassis specifications.

Performance-wise, the vehicles remain consistent, powered by a single motor producing 214bhp and 221lb ft, paired with batteries ranging from 60kWh in the Megane to 87kWh in the Scenic. This setup provides ranges of approximately 280 miles for the Megane and 372 miles for the Scenic in Esprit Alpine trim. Notably, the larger wheels slightly reduce the range compared to entry-level models.

Beyond the visual and comfort upgrades, the Esprit Alpine trim integrates advanced features such as one-pedal driving mode, vehicle-to-load capability, and personalized settings that adjust seats and mirrors based on facial recognition for the Scenic model. Pricing adjustments reflect these improvements, starting at £35,495 for the Megane and £39,995 for the Scenic in this sporty variant.

By introducing the Esprit Alpine trim, Renault successfully balances practicality with a touch of flair, appealing to drivers seeking both functionality and style in their electric vehicles. These enhancements underscore the company's commitment to innovation across its product lineup, ensuring there is something for every type of driver.
