According to the New York State Police, the incident unfolded on Saturday, November 16th, at approximately 12 a.m. Two troopers were investigating a 2018 GMC Arcadia that had struck a Department of Transportation light tower in a work zone when they were struck by a 2004 gray Toyota RAV4. The driver of the Toyota, identified as Jaikaran Ramrookum, 72, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.The impact of the crash was so severe that the first patrol vehicle was launched into the second one, causing significant damage to both.
