In an industry increasingly marked by consolidation, Parker Pemberton, formerly at the helm of eXp Realty's globally top-ranked team, has chosen an independent path, launching his own brokerage, PembertonRE.
Pemberton's motivation stems from a perceived need for robust local leadership within the real estate sector. He believes that as larger brokerages become more corporate, there is a distinct opportunity to offer agents a community-focused alternative. His former team, the Pemberton Homes Team, experienced remarkable growth of 110% year-over-year during its seven-year tenure with eXp Realty, expanding to include around 200 agents and seven offices. All these agents and offices are now transitioning to the newly established PembertonRE.
Pemberton acknowledges eXp's role in his team's past success, recognizing the foundation it provided for their rapid expansion. Beyond his real estate brokerage, Pemberton's business portfolio includes independent ventures in title services, mortgage, insurance, and real estate investing. This independent brokerage model will enable these ancillary services to integrate more smoothly, benefiting Pemberton's clientele directly. Pemberton's vision for PembertonRE is to create an all-encompassing support system for agents, providing everything from lead generation and personalized coaching to marketing support and transaction coordination, all in-house. This comprehensive approach, cultivated from his own early experiences of needing to seek external support for essential business functions, aims to empower agents fully. The new brokerage will also adopt a revenue share program, a model Pemberton views as crucial for the future success of any brokerage.
Pemberton's team demonstrated impressive performance in 2024, completing 1,223 transactions with a total sales volume exceeding $455 million, securing its position as Minnesota's second-largest mega team. Projections for 2025 anticipate even greater achievements, with over 2,000 transaction sides and a sales volume surpassing $800 million. This consistent high performance highlights the team's capacity for innovation and leadership within the real estate market.
