Savannah's newest Italian restaurant, Veratina, has opened its doors for lunch this week. Located at 606 Abercorn Street in the Victorian District, it has undergone a nice makeover. The food looks delicious, and the space looks even better. They'll be open for lunch Wed-Sunday through December until they get their liquor license, and dinner service will follow.

January 23rd through February 2nd marks the return of Eat It and Like It Restaurant Week. More details on this exciting event will be coming next week. It's a time to explore the local culinary scene and try out new dishes.
The space formerly occupied by New Realm Brewing Company is now in the midst of a build-out. It has been purchased by the Rhino Hospitality Group (formerly Ele and The Chef) and will be called Sunday Sunday. The windows advertise breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner, promising a diverse dining experience. Eric Curl at Savannah Agenda reports that the space will become an 11-unit inn with a restaurant on the ground floor. Sunday Sunday will be Rhino's 12th Savannah property.
Just down Whitaker, E Tang Hot Pot has opened its location. It is their 5th restaurant in the region and has also recently opened an E Tang in Okatie, SC to great reviews. Their next spot to open will be in Pooler in the next few weeks.
Their diverse menu and delicious offerings are sure to attract food lovers.

The red velvet cake at Flora and Fauna is truly out of this world. If you have a red velvet lover in your life, they must have a slice. It's a dessert that will leave you craving for more.
One of the underrated holiday events in Savannah is the Christmas Market at Plant Riverside District. Last year, there were nearly 3 dozen beautifully appointed booths selling artisan items, food, and drink. It's a beautiful sight and a great place to take your family this season, with or without a cup of hot cocoa.

The once popular Lucky Rooster Kitchen and Bar on Hilton Head Island has closed. The space will be taken over by Nectar by SERG Group. Lucky Beach, a spinoff of "Rooster," is still open, offering a different dining experience.

Two Birds Greek Street food is a delicious mobile option that is looking to have a permanent spot at Ogelthorpe and Drayton. Soon, you'll be able to enjoy their mouthwatering Greek cuisine in one place. If you haven't tried them yet, you definitely should.
The highly anticipated Laundry Diner is in the midst of a build-out at Paulsen and Anderson in Savannah. This is great news for the neighborhood that doesn't have a lot of dining options. New restaurants are constantly popping up, and Laundry Diner is sure to be a hit.
Just around the corner from the Laundry Diner, Gary Gordon tells us that they are working on their brunch menu at the brand new 520 Wings location on Waters Avenue. Although he didn't give a timetable, we're excited to see what they have in store.
Slow Fire BBQ also has big plans for the Waters corridor. We'll have to wait and see what they have in store for the local food scene.
The Low Country Home and Garden Show will feature the Eat It and Like It Cooking Stage from January 17-19th. Roughly a dozen area chefs will be joining us for demos and samples from your favorite restaurants. It will be held at the all new Savannah Convention Center on Hutchinson Island.
Our Eat It and Like It Fried Chicken and Champagne dinner returns on February 6th to The Alida Hotel. Details and tickets are available here. Roughly 70% of the seats are already gone, so it's sure to sell out. It's a must-attend event for food lovers.
