Redefining Assisted Living with Heartland at Prospect

Approval and Construction Timeline

The Inland Wetlands Commission approved the application from B&G Ventures IV on November 18 for a 45-unit, 46-bed elderly housing facility at this location. Shortly after, the Planning and Zoning Commission also gave the green light with a special permit. The estimated time to complete the redevelopment and construction of this facility is 18 months. This shows the commitment and efficiency in bringing this much-needed assisted living facility to life.

It is a significant step forward for the town of Prospect, as it will provide a much-needed service for the elderly population. The former nursing home, built in 1970 and sitting on 8.4 acres, is now being given a new purpose.

Apartment Features and Amenities

The assisted living facility apartments will offer a variety of options, with either one or two bedrooms and a majority being studio apartments. This caters to the diverse needs of the residents. The aim is to keep it affordable for the average working person with a pension.

Each apartment is designed with the comfort and well-being of the residents in mind. The attention to detail in the design and layout ensures a pleasant living environment for those who call this place home.

Workforce and Operational Details

The new facility will have a total of 30 to 35 workers who will be operational 24/7 to serve the needs of people 65 years and older. This dedicated team will provide personalized care and support to ensure the residents' quality of life.

With senior-centric living at its core, the facility will incorporate AI technology to assist the residents along with the help of human staff. This combination ensures that the residents receive the best possible care and support.

Community Integration and Sustainability

The Heartland at Prospect team will actively engage with the local community. They will use local areas for construction, vendors, restaurants, and entertainment. They will also utilize the Prospect Senior Center and Community Center, promoting a sense of inclusion.

In terms of sustainability, the facility will make use of energy-efficient construction. There will be solar panels in the rear of the building to power the facility and solar panels on the roof to feed the grid. This not only reduces the environmental impact but also saves on energy costs.
