Discovered last Friday by sheriff’s deputies, the children, aged 12, 13, and 15, were found living in a condominium with non-functioning plumbing, fecal matter scattered throughout, and garbage piled high. Authorities revealed that the two younger siblings had not left the home in nearly five years, while the eldest boy only ventured outside twice during this period. This tragic situation came to light when the landlord reported no contact with the mother since December and unpaid rent since October.

The ordeal began in the spring or summer of 2020, coinciding with the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, the children's father was incarcerated, and upon his release, he attempted to reconnect with his children but was prevented from doing so by their mother. Living conditions deteriorated rapidly, with the children surviving on food deliveries arranged by their mother or third-party services.
