A prominent UK snack brand, Proper, has introduced its inaugural cheese snack lineup, marking a bold step in the savory snack market. This new range features two standout products: All The Cheese Lentil Chips and Mature Cheddar Popcorn. Motivated by research highlighting dairy as the dominant flavor preference in crisps, snacks, and nuts—with an annual expenditure exceeding £750 million on cheese-flavored snacks—Proper is capitalizing on this trend with an innovative approach. These new offerings promise to deliver robust taste experiences without sacrificing quality or nutritional value.

Among the highlights of Proper's new collection is the All The Cheese Lentil Chips, crafted as a harmonious blend of cheddar, emmental, mozzarella, and gouda cheeses, baked into crispy lentil-based chips. This protein-rich, iron-packed, fiber-filled snack redefines convenience food while appealing to health-conscious consumers. In addition, Proper strengthens its Savory Popcorn line with the introduction of Mature Cheddar Popcorn, offering a tangy, rich flavor that provides a lighter alternative to conventional cheese snacks, yet remains high in fiber content.

Over the past seven years, Proper has witnessed an 84% surge in popcorn sales, contributing significantly to the company's overall worth of £27.4 million. Notably, Propercorn, the company’s popcorn division, boasts an RSV of £35.5 million, reflecting the burgeoning appetite for flavorful snacks among UK consumers.

Sandie Dilger, Chief Marketing Officer at Proper Snacks, expressed enthusiasm about the new product line, stating that it caters to the undeniable British love for cheese. She emphasized the importance of delivering a "Proper treatment" to cheese-based snacks, ensuring they stand out both in taste and authenticity. This spring, consumers can look forward to finding these exciting new snacks in major retailers such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s. WH Smith will carry them starting April 21, followed by Waitrose, Morrisons, and Asda later in the season.
