LEARNED IN THIS CASE. YEAH. BRIAN, YORK CITY POLICE SAY THAT THE CRASH THAT HAPPENED AT THIS INTERSECTION EAST OF DOWNTOWN WAS DELIBERATE. AND INTENTIONAL. SEVEN PEOPLE IN TWO CARS WERE SERIOUSLY HURT AFTER POLICE SAY THE DRIVER OF A RED HYUNDAI RAN A RED LIGHT AND SMASHED INTO A BLUE HONDA. THE CRASH HAPPENED CLOSE TO 7 P.M. SUNDAY EVENING AT THE INTERSECTION OF PHILADELPHIA AND SHERMAN STREETS IN YORK. POLICE HAVE CHARGED THE DRIVER OF THE RED HYUNDAI, JAHEIM ALFORD OF SOUTH CAROLINA, WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED CRIMINAL HOMICIDE AND OTHER OFFENSES. POLICE SAY WITNESSES IN HIS CAR SAY HE WAS ACTING WEIRD AND ANGRY. THEY SAY ALFORD WAS SPEEDING AND RAN A RED LIGHT AND THREATENED TO KILL EVERYONE IN HIS CAR. WHEN THE HYUNDAI SMASHED INTO A BLUE HONDA. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THIS INDIVIDUAL TRIED TO BRAKE, TRIED TO SLOW DOWN, STOP AT ALL. IN FACT, HE THERE’S A THERE’S SOME EVIDENCE THAT LOOKS LIKE HE ACCELERATED. YOU TAKE THAT WITH HIS STATEMENTS THAT HE’S GOING TO KILL EVERYBODY IN THE VEHICLE. YOU KNOW. AND THAT’S THE BIG DIFFERENCE. YOU KNOW, ACCIDENTS ARE JUST ACCIDENTS. BUT THIS IS PURELY INTENTIONAL. POLICE SAY THE SUSPECT IS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL ALONG WITH OTHER VICTIMS OF THE CRASH. A man faces three counts of attempted homicide after police say he intentionally caused a crash in York that sent seven people to the hospital.The crash happened at the intersection of North Sherman and Philadelphia streets around 7 p.m. Sunday.York police said Jaheim Alford, of South Carolina, was angry, behaving strangely and that he threatened to kill everyone inside his red Hyundai sedan before the collision.’Purely intentional’Police said Alford ran a red light and smashed into a Honda Odyssey minivan, causing serious injuries to himself, his passengers and people in the minivan, which included a pregnant woman.“There was no indication that this individual tried to brake, tried to slow down, stop at all. You take that with statements that he’s going to kill everybody in the vehicle, you know, and that’s the big difference to accidents. Accidents are just accidents.
