A significant infrastructure upgrade near Pocatello, Idaho, is nearing completion and promises to revolutionize traffic flow in the area. The ambitious project, aimed at revamping the interchange between Interstate 15 and Interstate 86, has been underway since August 2022. The Pocatello/Chubbuck interstate interchange renovation represents a legacy project set to benefit the region for generations. These include finishing the new southbound-to-westbound ramp, removing the temporary and old ramps, building the roadway north of the Pocatello Creek on-ramp, completing the new Chubbuck Road underpass, applying a chip seal to extend pavement life, and restriping lanes to their final configuration. Drivers are urged to observe the 55 miles per hour speed limit through the work zone and remain vigilant as construction activities continue.
