SHERMAN, Tx (KTEN) - Beginning on Monday, the beloved Pecan Grove East Park in Sherman is set to close for a series of construction improvements. These upgrades are set to bring a host of enhancements to the park, including the addition of more parking space, upgrades to the trail lighting system, and the installation of a brand new story walk. All of these improvements are being made possible with the generous support of local clubs and donors. Sherman Parks and Recreation staff are working diligently to ensure that the park will be completed by the spring of next year, ready to welcome back residents and visitors alike with its improved amenities.

Enhanced Parking Space - A Convenience for All

The addition of additional parking space is a crucial aspect of the park's construction improvements. With more parking available, visitors will no longer have to worry about finding a spot, especially during peak usage times. This will enhance the overall experience of visiting the park, making it more accessible and convenient for everyone. Whether it's for a family outing, a morning jog, or a leisurely stroll, the increased parking capacity will ensure that there is a place to park without any hassle.

Trail Lighting Upgrades - Illuminating the Paths

The upgrades to the trail lighting in Pecan Grove East Park are set to transform the evening experience for park visitors. Well-lit trails not only enhance safety but also add a magical touch to the park after dark. The new lighting system will provide a consistent and bright illumination along the trails, allowing visitors to enjoy their walks or runs even after the sun has set. This will encourage more people to explore the park during different times of the day and evening, making it a more vibrant and active space.

New Story Walk - An Educational Adventure

The installation of a new story walk is an exciting addition to Pecan Grove East Park. This interactive feature will allow visitors of all ages to enjoy a unique educational experience as they follow the story along the park's trails. Each panel of the story walk will feature a different part of the story, accompanied by illustrations and text. It's a great way to engage children in reading and learning while enjoying the outdoors. The new story walk will add a new dimension to the park and become a favorite spot for families and children.
