






In a significant move for collegiate sports, Franklin College has announced the appointment of Ashley Lynn Blanch as the new Head Coach of their women’s basketball team. Blanch, known for her dynamic leadership and dedication to nurturing student-athletes, joins Franklin after an impressive tenure at Hanover College. Amidst the vibrant backdrop of college athletics, Franklin College is set to embrace a fresh start under the guidance of Coach Ashley Blanch. Having recently served as the Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Hanover College from 2021 to 2025, Blanch brings a wealth of experience and accolades to her new role. During her time at Hanover, she mentored numerous All-Conference honorees, including distinctions such as Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Prior to Hanover, Blanch honed her skills at Mansfield University (2019–2021) and began her coaching journey at Anderson University (2017–2019). Recognized as a WBCA Thirty Under 30 honoree in 2025, Blanch exemplifies the next generation of trailblazing coaches in women’s basketball.
With a master’s degree in business administration from Anderson University and a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Defiance College, Blanch is well-equipped to inspire both academic and athletic achievement among her players. Starting her official duties on June 10, Blanch is eager to cultivate a robust culture within the team that emphasizes success not only on the court but also in the classroom and community.
