New Chapter: Caleb Bellach Takes Helm of Manhattan High School Basketball

A fresh face has taken the reins in the world of high school basketball coaching. Caleb Bellach, a former standout player for Manhattan Christian Eagles, Montana State Bobcats, and Montana Tech Orediggers, is embracing his new role as head coach of the Manhattan High School boys' basketball team. During a summer tournament in Butte, Bellach reflected on the unique sensation of transitioning from player to coach. The experience, though slightly surreal, has been an invigorating one for him, marked by a sense of pride in guiding young athletes.

With an illustrious career behind him, including leading the Orediggers to multiple championships and national tournament appearances, Bellach brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. After briefly playing professionally in Germany, he decided that coaching was where his heart truly lay. "The cultural exposure was incredible, but the game didn't resonate with me like it used to," he shared. Returning to Montana last November, Bellach's journey led him to Wyoming for a short stint before accepting the position at Manhattan High School, just seven miles from where he grew up. His enthusiasm for this opportunity is palpable, as he looks forward to making a difference in the lives of his players.

Bellach attributes much of his success and preparation for coaching to the mentors he encountered throughout his playing days. From winning a state championship under his father, Jeff Bellach, to learning under Danny Sprinkle at MSU and Adam Hiatt at Tech, each coach imparted invaluable lessons. "Every coach has their own approach, and I feel lucky to have learned from all three," he expressed. As he gears up for his first season with the Tigers, Bellach aims to foster growth through competitive opportunities and fast-paced play. This summer marks the beginning of a promising era for Manhattan High School basketball under his dynamic leadership. Embracing challenges ahead, Bellach inspires hope and excitement among both players and fans alike.
