The Neighborhood's Food Scene: Heating Up with New Spots

Dec 4, 2024 at 10:02 PM
The food landscape in our neighborhood is experiencing a remarkable resurgence. Super thrilled to see Colorado Plus back in action after their extensive renovation. The original menu with that incredible burger is a delight. While I'm still unsure about the full and no-service concept, I make do by sitting at the bar. I do wish they were open more than just 5 days a week. The same goes for Little Brazil with their unique hours. But the food is truly fantastic and worth the effort to figure out their schedules. The cocktails are superb, and the location is ideal, especially for my friend Taylor who lives at West 38th.

A Place with a Unique Farm Connection

Here's a whole new aspect to get excited about in the food scene. There's a place right next to Wheat Ridge's Happiness Gardens that has its own farm. Only native plants are grown here, producing traditional foods of Native American descent. With a mission to restore ancestral food ways and grow plants that serve as both food and medicine. Whether it's the soup, stews, or their bread, orders can be placed online at CHIL-indegenousfoods.com. It might not be the most traditional ordering system, but my friend Shirley would never lead me astray. The food was truly amazing, with a quality that not only satisfies the taste buds but also has a healing effect as you consume it.

Nááts’íilid Kitchen - A New Culinary Destination

Nááts’íilid Kitchen is now located at the old church, which has been transformed into the Wheat Ridge Center for Music and Arts. Orders placed by Wednesday can be picked up on Friday. Make sure to check out their website; you won't be disappointed. There's a lot more to explore about this place in the near future.

The Asian Restaurant Scene - New Changes and Hopes

There have been some shifts in the Asian restaurant scene in town. My favorite, New China, has been replaced by Jin Asian. I've also been in touch with a place that seemed to be shut down before it could open, but there might be some life in that plan yet. I'll definitely have more updates on this in the next issue.

Holiday Office Party Options

With the holidays upon us, it's important to consider our local venues for office parties. This year, Hanukkah and Christmas fall on the same day, which is exciting. I've booked Wolf and Wildflower Wine Bar for my real estate business team holiday party. Look out for the beautiful holiday lights on Main Street in Wheat Ridge!
