The tournament's schedule was altered due to inclement weather, forcing the event to move indoors to the Simpkins Indoor Courts in Greensboro, North Carolina. Despite the change in venue, the Eagles remained undaunted, completing three rounds of tennis, including two rounds of doubles and one round of singles. The remaining rounds were played outdoors on Saturday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

The Eagles' doubles teams shone brightly on the opening day of the tournament. The North Carolina Central University women's tennis team now sets its sights on defending their HBCU National Tennis Championship title, which they will compete for on September 19-22 in Atlanta, Georgia, at the South Fulton Tennis Center.
