Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett in 2006, RiffTrax is an entertainment company producing content with "MST3K"-type commentary for films across genres. The company has built a library of over 1,000 titles and has produced five primetime television specials for the National Geographic Channel, two apps and an official game, "RiffTrax: The Game," which is available on Mac, PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. RiffTrax also produces live events, with RiffTrax Live featuring live commentary on a movie that simulcast into over 700 theaters across North America multiple times a year.Expanding Horizons with Nebula
Beginning October 5th, RiffTrax will launch its weekly "Saturday Cinema" series on Nebula, starting with the release of five shorts including commentary. This week's release is a version of "Night of the Living Dead" with their classic RiffTrax-style commentary. The partnership with Nebula, a creator-driven platform, represents a significant milestone for RiffTrax as they seek to introduce their unique brand of humor to a wider audience.A Dream Collaboration for Nebula
Nebula CEO Dave Wiskus expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "The RiffTrax team are pioneers, not only in comedy but in digital video and entertainment. Getting to work with them is genuinely a dream come true." This sentiment is echoed by RiffTrax president and head writer Michael J. Nelson, who said, "Having been an independent, artist-owned company for nearly two decades, we couldn't be more thrilled to be partnering with a creator-driven platform like Nebula."Expanding the Reach of Riffing
Nelson further elaborated on the partnership, noting, "Given the number of movies we've roasted over the years with 'space' or 'galaxy' in the title – it feels like a natural partnership. We're excited to introduce our particular brand of humor to a ton of folks who might not have yet had the pleasure of watching 'Galaxy Invader' or 'Plan 9 From Outer Space.'" This collaboration with Nebula represents a significant step forward for RiffTrax, as they seek to bring their unique brand of comedic commentary to a wider audience and continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of live entertainment and digital content.
