Johnson's life has been a remarkable tale of rising above challenges. Growing up with a single mother and facing the loss of a dear friend before college, he has emerged as a beacon of hope. His story shows that anyone can conquer adversity, regardless of when it strikes.

Inspiring the Next Generation to Overcome Adversity

Johnson's Early Life and Loss

Johnson spent his childhood with a single mother. The day before leaving for college at Texas A&M, he lost "LD," his best friend. This significant event marked the beginning of his journey of facing adversity head-on.

Such experiences taught him valuable lessons that he would carry with him throughout his path to the NFL. He understood that life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and it's how one responds that truly matters.

The Role of Mentors in His Life

Johnson credits several people for playing a crucial role in his development. His mother, Michelle Stephens, was like both a mother and a father figure. His older brothers and TrueBuzz 7on7 football coach, DeMarquis Brooks, also stepped up as mentors.

They were there for him not only as a football player but also as a person. Their guidance and support helped him grow into the person he is today.

Passing on Knowledge

Now, Johnson is dedicated to passing on the knowledge he has gained to the next generation. He hosted his inaugural football camp in June, with around 200 kids participating.

He wants to show those in his shoes that it's possible to succeed even without a father figure. With hard work and self-confidence, one can achieve great things.

Community Involvement

Johnson and his Texas A&M teammate, Trayveon Williams, are co-hosting a coat drive for Dallas students in need until December 13. This initiative shows his commitment to making a difference in his community.

By providing coats and support, they are helping those in need and inspiring others to get involved. You can visit www.everybodyneedsabuddyfoundation.com and follow @enab_foundation on Instagram to learn more and contribute.
