It appears that a woman driving a 2020 Kia Rio may have made an improper lane change, leading to a collision with a 2015 Kia Optima. Both vehicles were headed south on NW Broad Street. The impact was so strong that it forced the Rio into the northbound lanes. A 2013 Volkswagen Beetle then struck the Rio, and debris from the crash also hit a Chrysler minivan traveling in the opposite direction.The 24-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators are currently looking into whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. They found possible drugs and an open bottle of alcohol in one of the cars.The driver of the Optima, 19-year-old Brandon Alexander, was arrested at the scene on two unrelated outstanding warrants for theft and criminal simulation.
