A Weekend of Automotive Wonders

The Morris Lions Fall Classic Car Show is a two-day extravaganza that caters to car enthusiasts of all ages and interests. The event will feature a swap meet, a car corral, and a craft show, all of which will be open to visitors on both Saturday and Sunday. However, the real highlight of the weekend will be the distinct car shows scheduled for each day.

Honoring the Orphans: Saturday's Showcase

On Saturday, the spotlight will shine on the "orphan car/truck show," where vehicles whose manufacturers are no longer in business or whose models are no longer produced will take center stage. This unique display will feature cars and trucks from 1900 to the present day, with registration open from 8 a.m. to noon. Participants can register their vehicles for $20, which includes one passenger, with an additional $5 charge for each additional passenger. The event will culminate in the presentation of first-place trophies in seven classes for both cars and trucks, starting at 2 p.m.

The Traditional Fall Classic: Sunday's Showcase

Sunday will bring the traditional Fall Classic Car Show, where a diverse array of classic automobiles will be on display. Similar to the Saturday event, registration will be open from 8 a.m. to noon, with the same registration fees of $20 for each vehicle and one passenger, and an additional $5 for each additional passenger. This show will also be a participant-judged event, organized through 3-D Sound, where car owners will receive ballots to judge the cars in each class.

Raffle Excitement: Win a Piece of Automotive History

Adding to the excitement of the event, the Morris Lions will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a stunning 1969 Chevy Nova. Tickets are priced at $5 each, 3 for $10, or 7 for $20, with a total of 10 prizes up for grabs. The winning ticket will be drawn at approximately 3 p.m. on Sunday, giving attendees the opportunity to take home a piece of automotive history.

Spectator Experience: Parking, Car Corral, and More

Spectators attending the Morris Lions Fall Classic Car Show will be able to park on-site for a $5 donation per day, with children under 12 admitted for free. In addition to the car shows, visitors will have the chance to browse the car corral, where cars and trucks will be available for sale at a $20 fee for the driver and one passenger.

A Diverse Marketplace: Swap Meet and Crafty Swappers

The event will also feature a bustling swap meet and a craft show, where visitors can explore a wide variety of goods for sale. Food vendors will be on-site to cater to the appetites of attendees. In accordance with the county fairground regulations, visitors are reminded that there are to be no open fires, pets, firearms, drugs, alcohol, or glass bottles. For those interested in further information or updates, the Morris Lions encourage visitors to check out their website at morrislionsclub.com or their Facebook page at Lions Club of Morris Illinois.
