Frugals' Commitment to Helping Those in Need

The Missoula Frugals restaurant has always been known for its commitment to the local community, but their recent actions have taken their philanthropic efforts to new heights. When the news of the devastating hurricanes reached their doorstep, the restaurant's management knew they had to do something to help. "It wasn't immediately on our radar, of course, to be donating to something like this on the other side of the country up here in the middle northwest," said Eli Duncan, the general manager of Frugals. "But we have some general managers here over in Washington who have family down in Florida, and he wanted to show some love to his family and show some love to his friends down there, so we immediately jumped on the boat to try to get this taken care of."The decision to partner with the American Red Cross was a natural one, as the organization has been at the forefront of the hurricane relief efforts. "We have spoken to them directly, and 100% of all money we make today across all locations goes directly to the hurricane relief efforts, and that's it," Duncan explained, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to those in need.

Overwhelming Community Response

The Missoula community has rallied behind the Frugals' fundraising initiative, with the restaurant reporting a great turnout for the proceeds day. "It's been incredible to see the outpouring of support from our local community," said Duncan. "People have been coming in all day, not just to enjoy our delicious food, but to contribute to a cause that is so important and impactful."The fundraiser, which ran through 9 p.m. on Monday at all Frugals locations, has already generated significant funds for the hurricane relief efforts. President Joe Biden has stated that the estimated $50 billion worth of damage in Florida from Hurricane Milton is a testament to the scale of the devastation, and the American Red Cross and other organizations are working tirelessly to provide aid to those affected.

Inspiring Others to Follow Suit

The Missoula Frugals' initiative has not only provided much-needed financial support to the hurricane relief efforts but has also inspired others to follow suit. "We hope that our actions will encourage other businesses, both large and small, to find ways to contribute to the relief efforts," said Duncan. "Every little bit helps, and when we all come together as a community, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who have been impacted by these natural disasters."The Missoula Frugals' commitment to supporting the hurricane relief efforts is a shining example of the power of community-driven initiatives. By leveraging their resources and rallying their local supporters, the restaurant has demonstrated that even small businesses can play a significant role in addressing the pressing needs of those affected by natural disasters. As the recovery efforts continue, the Missoula community and beyond can take inspiration from the Frugals' example and find their own ways to lend a helping hand.
