Microsoft Unveils Major Updates for Game Pass Quests in 2025

In a significant shift for its rewards program, Microsoft is introducing several changes to Xbox Game Pass Quests in 2025. These updates promise to enhance the experience for adult users while restricting access for younger players. The company aims to align these changes with its commitment to fostering age-appropriate gaming environments. Additionally, new features will be available across both console and PC platforms, offering more ways for eligible members to earn points.

Enhanced Rewards for Adult Subscribers

Starting this week, Microsoft has implemented an age restriction on Game Pass Quests, limiting access to users aged 18 and above. This move reflects the company's dedication to providing age-appropriate content. Adults can now look forward to innovative methods of earning Microsoft Rewards points, similar to recent enhancements made for Australian players.

The update ensures that players under 18 can no longer participate in Game Pass Quests or access the Rewards Hub on Xbox consoles, PC, or mobile devices. However, they can still accumulate points through other activities such as making approved purchases from the Microsoft Store, conducting searches on Bing, and completing daily sets. For those over 18, the changes introduce fresh opportunities to boost their point earnings. Console Weekly Bonuses are now worth 150 points, and Daily PC Play Quests offer 10 points each day. Furthermore, Monthly 4-Pack and 8-Pack Quests challenge subscribers to play multiple titles within the Game Pass catalog for at least 15 minutes each month.

New Features Expand Gaming Streaks and Challenges

To encourage consistent gameplay, Microsoft is reintroducing weekly streaks for both console and PC games. Players who maintain a five-day-a-week gaming habit can earn substantial rewards. The more days they play, the higher the points multiplier. A two-week streak yields double the base points, three weeks triple, and anything beyond four weeks quadruples the reward.

A new PC Weekly Bonus has also been introduced, awarding 150 points when playing for at least 15 minutes on five or more days in a week. Although the PC streak lacks multipliers, it provides a steady stream of points. Minimum playtime is required to earn points, and currently, only titles within the Game Pass catalog qualify for Quests. This excludes PC games needing third-party launchers or those played on Battle.net. These adjustments follow a recent issue where many Reward members faced account bans, hopefully resolved now, allowing them to enjoy the new Quests.
