New Hampshire Ceremony: 60 Penhallow at Brick Market

Metro Walls received an Excellence in Construction Award for the 60 Penhallow at Brick Market project in Portsmouth, NH. This 97,000 s/f mixed-building offers residents office and retail space within the community. The exterior facade is exceptional, featuring compound radius walls with a variety of finishes like wood, metal, and granite. The use of mass timber and cross-laminated timber (CLT) enhances the design. Once a parking lot, this site has been transformed into a stunning four-story structure inspired by Portsmouth's maritime history, incorporating artistic timber and copper elements throughout. It showcases the company's ability to transform underutilized spaces into remarkable landmarks.Another aspect of this project is its significance in providing a diverse range of spaces for the community. The combination of office and retail areas caters to the needs of both businesses and residents, creating a vibrant and functional environment.

Portland's Armature: A Transformative Project

Metro Walls also won an Excellence in Construction award for their work on the Armature in Portland, ME. This former surface parking lot and public works garage in a rapidly developing neighborhood near the water is now a 240,000 s/f eight-story apartment complex with retail space. As more people relocated to this sought-after area, the need for such a large-scale development became evident. The building is equipped with numerous amenities for residents, including a pool, courtyard, private parking, indoor and outdoor fitness spaces, a gaming room, a pet washing station, and 6,500 s/f of retail space. It demonstrates Metro Walls' expertise in adapting existing spaces and creating modern living environments.The transformation of this land from an underused parking lot to a bustling residential and retail complex is a testament to Metro Walls' construction skills and ability to meet the evolving needs of communities.

In addition to the Excellence in Construction Awards, Metro Walls won a Merit award from the Associated Builders and Contractors Massachusetts chapter for the 60 Penhallow at Brick Market project.
