I think the fans are really excited about it." The Mazda MX-5 Cup Series race will kick off the action at 6 p.m., followed by the championship race of the Whelen Modified Tour Series at 8 p.m.The anticipation for this event has been palpable, with the track hosting two successful test sessions for the competitors. "I know the competitors are (excited) because we've had two tests for them. The tests went extremely well, beyond all of our expectations," Campbell revealed, further fueling the excitement surrounding the debut of these open-top cars on the iconic Martinsville Speedway.
