Marco Wutz's Gaming Background and Current Work

Marco Wutz, hailing from Parkstetten, Germany, has made a significant mark in the gaming realm. With a degree in Ancient History, he combines his academic knowledge with a deep passion for various strategy games. From real-time to turn-based, such as StarCraft, Age of Empires, Total War, Age of Wonders, Crusader Kings, and Civilization, to the popular Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, his love for gaming is evident.
Early Beginnings and StarCraft 2 Coverage
In 2011, Marco began his writing journey by covering StarCraft 2 for the largest German community around the game. He even had the opportunity to host a live tournament on the stage at gamescom 2014. This early exposure laid the foundation for his future in the gaming industry.His dedication and expertise in StarCraft 2 led him to work for Bonjwa, one of the country's biggest Twitch channels. This was a significant milestone in his career, allowing him to reach a wider audience and showcase his writing skills.Expanding Horizons and Writing in English
In 2015, Marco branched out and started writing in English by joining tl.net, the global center of the StarCraft scene run by Team Liquid. This move opened up new opportunities for him and he was nominated as the Best Coverage Website of the Year at the Esports Industry Awards in 2017. His work on tl.net not only gained him recognition but also helped him connect with a global audience.Translating and Live Coverage
He also worked as a translator on The Crusader Stands Watch, a biography in memory of Dennis “INTERNETHULK” Hawelka. This project showcased his language skills and his ability to handle diverse content. Alongside this, he provided live coverage of many StarCraft 2 events on the social channels of tl.net as well as DreamHack, the world's largest gaming festival. His live coverage added an exciting dimension to the events, keeping the viewers engaged.Transition to Games Industry Writing
After graduating, Marco transitioned into writing about the games industry in general. In 2021, he joined GLHF, a content agency specializing in video games coverage for media partners across the globe.
